Smart-Touch Tissot is not the first Swatch smartwatch released to date.
There have been 2015’s Bellamy and Touch Zero One launched by Swatch, but only having limited functionality, and being designed exclusively for volleyball and payment, things that made them very unattractive to the public.
However, in 2016, Swatch launched the Tissot Smart-Touch, the first “pure-blood” Swatch smartwatch, having extended functionality. Obviously, it is not like a Tag Heuer smartwatch, but has the most necessary functions to any user in his daily routine.
The price for this Tissot smartwatch varies between 1100 and 1200 dollars. Although the price is not very accessible, Swatch mentions that the device can function as a normal watch, even if syncing with your smartphone ends – or is interrupted, so the basic watch function remains all the time.
It can be synchronized with your smartphone to assist in navigation. Also, you benefit of weather updates, which you get from a weather station that transmits weather conditions directly on your Smartwatch.
The smartwatch has an altimeter and other useful tools like time automatic updates. The battery can provide a period of up to one year between charges and recharging can be done using solar energy.
The Tissot Smart-Touch launch is no surprise, Swatch says they only develop the line announced for a very long time now. However, it is unknown whether this smartwatch trend will continue for Swatch. On the other hand, a lot of Swiss traditional watch manufacturers create more and more models of smart watches.
